Green Tara, the Mother of Liberation who appears as a female Buddha in Vajrayana Buddhism.
 
When struck, this gong produces a deep, beautiful note with waves of sound rolling over each other to create a very soothing and healing effect. The video demonstration shows the gong being played with two mallets. For filming purposes, the gong was hanging quite low, and the extra mallet helped stabilise the gong - however, it is not necessary to use two mallets to achieve the deep roar heard in the video. Playing around the edges with one hand will tease the sound up to a crescendo which can be finished off with a firm but gentle tap in the centre of the gong. I strongly recommend using headphones when listening to the demonstration!
